<p>Does being from out of state help one get into Boston College? I have heard both and am wondering if anyone has heard an explanation for these rumors.</p>
<p>Every preppie Catholic kid in Massachusetts thinks it is his/her birthright to go to BC, and they obviously cannot accept all of them, and since BC wants students from many states and countries, I would say an out of state kid has a good shot. The biggest obstacle to MA kids getting into BC is the sheer #'s of local kids who want to go there.</p>
