outdoorsy prep

what schools are good for the sort of outdoorsy/bohemian type wait a little bit of prep mixed in? I am looking for a school where students enjoy the outdoors but are still preppy.

I know this is hard to explain but I am aiming for something really particular. I want sort of the "preppy boy with soho flavor" feel. If you know what I mean...

College of Charleston. Look it up on collegepr0wler and look at the review of “Guys & Girls” and “Local Atmosphere”. Its perfect!

Middlebury College too, check that site for comments on the students it attracts.

Lastly University of Denver.

immediately, when i read “outdoorsy”, i thought of whitman in walla walla, washington and middlebury in vermont - i think that community has aspects of both prep and bohemian. perhaps, university of puget sound, willamette, lewis and clark, colorado college? maybe even university of vermont? all of these schools have a distinct feel and personality, and you would definitely need to feel them out.

less outdoorsy yet more bohemian, wesleyan in connecticut. i think some of the student body has that soho attitude you are looking for. bard college in annadale-in-hudson and bennington in vermont, also a bit less “prep”. i think skidmore in saratoga springs would work.

i go to drew university in madison, new jersey. it’s touted as “the university of the forest” - the student body is pretty diverse, and we have some preps and bohemians.

i hope this helped. good luck.

Lewis and Clark in Portland OR. For not preppy but outdoorsy I would say Reed in Portland.

Sewanee in Tennessee (University of the South)

thanks for all the inputs!

I already looked at Middlebury and CofC and they definitely seem to fit the mold. I am going to check out Sewanee, Skidmore, and Wesleyan!

How are Bates and Bowdoin in terms of this?

I would suggest Bowdoin.

Dartmouth also fits that description.

add colby too
