Outside Scholarship and Part-time Job

Hi everyone!! I have been accepted to GS. Now I need 20k annually to finance my education at GS this fall. Can anyone recommend me any outside scholarships that are suitable for me ? ( GS institutional aid is too low TT )

Also, are there any part-time job in campus that I can apply to make 20k annually?

p/s: I’m from Vietnam- already have a degree in Finance. I was an investment banker and forex trader. Intended Major at GS : Computer Science.

Any opinion is welcomed !! Thanks in advance!!

If you don’t mind, could you tell me how much institutional aid did you get?

Hi @MoTeak , I haven’t received the decision for my institutional aid yet . But it’s won’t be higher than 10k according to my research and chat with some students in GS. So I need to start looking for more funds now .

Thanks for your comment.

P/s more info about me: I’m male so any scholarships for women is not suitable ^^ Also not disabled or veteran so I guess that’s why its so hard to find a schorlarhip TT

GS only offer about 10K? I can’t believe that…
Some “less prestigious” private schools that I applied offer me more than that.

Most of the scholarships vary between $1,000 to $5000. It’s tough for all of us, especially when we don’t have “privileges”, such as being a man in science :slight_smile:

Hi anh. Is there anyway I can talk with you via text, skype or viber… If you don’t mind sharing that with me. The comprehensive fee at GS is about 60k, you just need 20k so your family can afford you 40k??? Or you get some scholarship from anywhere?
I’m in desperation right now since my family can only afford 20k for me

@Kevin2509

@MoTeak GS can offer less in scholarship money because of the prestige of the degree–it’s a Columbia education/diploma, and to many that is worth more than the degree you’d receive at a “less prestigious” institution. GS is very transparent about the lack of financial aid. If funds are an issue, applicants should think long and hard about whether this amount of debt is worth it before enrolling.

@nickdrake I agree with you. That’s why I am still waiting. :slight_smile:

@zacle1234 I’m sorry to say this. But if your family can only afford 20k. It’s not wise to pursue a degree from GS. My family can afford the rest 40k.

Unless you are disabled or women in science, it’s extremely difficult to find a scholarship. Just inbox me via private message if you need more personal contact.

Let me know if you need anything else. @zacle1234
Give me a mess in private message, I will reply with my personal contact.
