Hey guys,
Well I've been studying real ACT's and I have found that when I study a lot my scores seem to be dropping?
Test 1: 31.75
32eng, 33 math, 33 read, 29sci

Test 2: 31.25
32eng, 31math, 32read, 32sci (this science showed me I can do well...)

Test 3: 30
32eng, 31math, 31read, 26sci

Then I took a week break (the above 3 tests were taken within a week)

Test 4: 32.5
33eng, 33math, 35read, 29sci
Maybe this was just an easy test-the test was June 2007 65C (if you have taken the same test do you find it very easy?)

Anyways I don't think I'm going to take to many more practice tests maybe 1 or 2 before the real thing... I'm just going to casually study things like cracking the act and barrons 36....

What I’ve noticed while taking ACT practice tests is that it helps to let your mind absorb the test you’re taking. That means, after you do a test, check over you’re answers and wait two days or even three before you do that section again. It really helps to say exercise your mind into becoming familiar with common rules, etc.

Also, do you mind sending me your ACT test? I’m looking for some extra practice and would love it if you could do so. Thanks :)

Zilly if I get a 33 on the September act I’m going to post a link for all 15 tests… If I don’t get a 33 I’m breaking my computer and burning all tests…

and like zilly said, i believe there IS such thing as over-studying for this test…happened to me on my first try and I felt burnt out. My advice would not to do any studying at least 2 days before the test. (e.g. since my ACT is on 9/11, I wouldn’t do any ACT studying on 9/9 and 9/10). Also, make sure you get a good rest!

A good rest is an understatement. I’m sleeping till 10 and jogging for 2 miles each day. The only studying I’m doing is book studying not tests.

Yeah, think of it like working out (working out your brain ^^). You wouldn’t do a whole bunch of lifting in one day only 4 times and expect to be at the top. You must spread out the studying.

It took me 20 tests to break 32 (i’m a little slow). After doing 30 some I’m around 34 with an occasional 35 if i’m lucky. I pondered about overstudying too but I found taking breaks of a few days did wonders for me and reviewing the tests I had done thoroughly before moving on and giving special attention to not only the questions I missed but the underlying concepts behind them and then reviewing those in depth before going to the next practice test. This took me all summer. Woke up at 7 am and studied from 9-5 and then hung out with friends and worked out all summer. Hopefully it was time well spent. We’ll see on 9/11.

Yea, I’m going to take 1 more practice test before te September test. And for all you saying give the test now, honestly go beg somewhere else, or pay 175$ to a tutoring company and get your own tests. Bart, it’s odd because one test I’ll shoot a 32 science and the next I’ll shoot a 26… If I hit a 32 science on September test I’ll get a 33 for sure and I’ll die in joy. But I’ve only hit a 30+ science 1/12.

Lol now I’m not posting the link… Send me a message after the September test if you want the tests and don’t even bother sending a message if you haven’t contributed to the site or been here 6 months+

^ Facepalm. This guy thinks he’s cool cause he has like 15 ACTs. Meanwhile, Bart and I have 30+ and several other people I know have 30+ as well.

EDIT: And no, that doesn’t mean PM me incessantly. I just wanted to shut this guy up, acting so high and mighty since he has more than tests than some people.

ACTTester then why don’t you make a link and give them out to all the people? I webass has been going from post to post making people feel like *****. I’m not going to give the tests to some kid who enjoys making fun of others. If someone who I’ve seen on here and has helped me/others I’ll give the tests to them without thought. So go play with your 30 tests somewhere else and ■■■■ before you talk.

^^ This is coming from someone who was PMing people literally begging for ACT tests 3 months ago? My friend told me about you. Little hypocrite UVA, ■■■■. And I’m not the one promising to give people ACTs if I get a certain score. Only an arrogant a-hole would do that.

“my friend told me about you” lol, what is this CSI. Anyways if anyone wants the tests and they have contributed to this site give me a PM and I’ll send them on email. ACTTester please stop spamming this thread. I’m kind of confused on how you think I’m bragging about having so many tests? I’ve said that I have tests to study from and thats all. I asked a question about how to improve for the next ACT and you have to turn it around and create a problem. How about you and your friend just leave this thread. Lol, still laughing about “my friend told me about you”. Its a sad day when kids talk to their friends about others on CC… sad sad day.
