Overrepresented state?

hmom5 - Right, that was the joke… I know how overrepresented the Bay Area is…

I don’t there’s such a thing as an “overrepresented state” in general. It’s specific to the particular college you’re applying to. Florida certainly isn’t “overrepresented” at top Midwestern schools like Chicago, Northwestern, Michigan, Carleton, and Oberlin. It probably isn’t “overrepresented” at top West Coast schools like Stanford, UC Berkeley, Pomona, Caltech, Claremont McKenna, or Harvey Mudd. It may be “overrepresented” at some Ivies, but probably not at a lot of top Northeastern LACs which continue to draw most of their students from the Northeast. In fact, Florida doesn’t export all that many college students relative to its size, mainly because its in-state publics are such great values, so it’s not likely to over “overrepresented” many places.

@ sciencefrenchie…
unfortunately, yes. :P

Ahh, 'tis good to live on the frozen tundra.

In all seriousness, though, does Alaska tend to concentrate anywhere?

@kiterunner18: Haha, I figured. My only prerequisite for college is any one that’s not in Ohio :)

@HADC10: University of Alaska, maybe? :stuck_out_tongue: other than that, I would guess not.

@ sciencefrenchie… hahahha, pretty much the same with me and Missouri.

ORANGE COUNTY!!
totallly over represented xD

I’m from Michigan. How is this viewed in terms of over/underrepresentation?

I’m sorry to say that you’re probably in an overrepresented area.

^ Fledgling’s location says Ann Arbor.

How bad is North Carolina at schools in New England?
