Overwhelming Greek Presence

So I've heard some horror stories about the frats/sors at D and how, if you're not a part of them, you're practically cut off.

Any of this valid? I applied without even thinking to check the prevalence of Greek life. :'(
I'm not too confident about getting into D, but I want to make sure I've researched it fully. Tis all.

Opinions from current students would be perf.

Just like any school with a greek life, there is no requirement to join them and still have fun. My interviewer never joined a sorority and still had a blast at Dartmouth. Sure she went to a few frat parties but you’ll find plenty of people who share your thoughts on greek like. Just a quick question for you though. Why apply without learning about the school and all it encompasses? Unlike many students here I only applied to schools I felt i would truly fit in at not for solely their reputation.

Well, I kinda assumed D to be relaxed and I loved its country setting. I have an acquaintance who attends and I noticed some time ago that he seems…socially stifled. sigh
I then searched the internetz and found some discouraging things. I thought I researched all of my options well, but two or three schools on my list have me second guessing them.
Fwiw, I consider fin aid FIRST then other factors. ^▁^

Are you a junior?

Nevermind but like I said earlier if you go to D just as in any college you get what you put into it.

I see, I see.
