Are Midd students allowed to use file sharing networks such as Limewire and Kazaa while using the campus' wireless network or are they blocked?

Technically they have to say no, but they are not blocked and everybody I know uses them.

This is the official stance.

[Sharing Music & Videos Over the Internet](http://www.middlebury.edu/academics/lis/help/p2p/filesharing.htm)

But nobody has ever received even a letter from the RIAA, much less been prosecuted at Middlebury.

From another document on the Midd website:

“Please note that Middlebury College does not monitor its network for content as part of its privacy policy (with the exception of certain types of network activity that risk computer and network security, or severely impede network functionality).”

So you will be fine. I use P2P all the time at Midd, I like to take advantage of the T3 connection while I can.
