Packages

I know that while at CBT only letters are allowed, (and i've been taking advantage of that...), but when are ackages allowed? And what can and cannot be sent? I don't want to make it harder by sending something not allowed. Thanks!

If you want to send supplies like underwear, socks, glasses, contacts, or something like that, you can do that while they're at Beast. It'll take a few days to get it because it has to be picked up at the window, and your new cadet will have to open it in front of their cadre.

All bets are off after Acceptance Day! At that point, you could send them the complete contents of the candy aisle at WalMart and it would not matter!

UPS and DHL deliveries get sent to Central Guard Room. USPS (normal mail) goes to their post office boxes.

Thannks! It was my friend's birthday a bit ago, so i'm working up a birthday package :)

Word of advice to parents etc sending edible boodle to your soon to be Plebe:

Send it in a snap-lock type tote, not too big as it needs to fit in a relatively confined space in their room--maybe a little bigger than a shoebox but not any taller. Why snap lock???--there are critters roaming the barracks and they are VERY VERY good at finding the kind of food your cadet will like to have around. Once they have a tote you can send more later in a regular box as your cadet will already have something secure to store it in.

Oh rats...too late for this crop of Bucker yuks, but for next year...

Go to your local army surplus store or local gun shop and get an ammo can. They're OD green, but can be painted in fabulous colors! Mine was purple. Scrub well, and voila! A rodent proof, humidity resistant metal boodle box for the field! Mine was about the size of a shoe box, maybe 7.62 ammo? I can't remember exactly and all of my stuff is in transit.

I remember the email from our Plebe last year as she described how a furry friend gnawed right through the cardboard box she had her boodle in and ravaged her precious M&M's. Not a happy camper.
