<p>If you are being paid to do research, does that affect any of the prestige of listing it in your resume or talking about it in an interview?</p>
<p>The only reason why I would take a paid research position if I had the option to take it for credit is because taking it for credit would cost money that wouldn't be covered by financial aid.</p>
<p>there’s no difference based on whether you’re paid or not, but keep in mind that often paid research is less interesting than unpaid because they’re only offering to pay since they can’t attract enough students otherwise</p>
<p>Well my school’s department offers both for the same thing – you can choose to be paid or you can choose to take it for credit.</p>
<p>Unless you need the credit, I would choose to be paid.</p>
