Pakistani thread

and incidentally, i'd LOVE to study at IIT. Are they still accepting applications?

Islam actually doesn't promote the eye for eye ideology we've all been criticizing the past few posts. It promotes peace.

Al Qaeda/taliban/saddam hussein ? Well Islam's subjective. They choose to interpret it, or reinterpret it in whatever manner they want, thats on their heads. They're idiots, but if they're idiots, thats on their heads too.

I'm sure you wont be able to find any muslims on this forum who believe in perpetuating terrorism. Thats a blatantly negative stereotype. Its like saying ermm all Hindu's kill their wives or all americans get high on ex, and sleep around with random strangers while their daddy's thriving hotel business takes care of stuff like 'a living'.

Just.... don't.

Hi. Just wanted to know whether University college london(UCL) is a good place to study, for a profession in pakistan...... Like is it recognised and respected amongst the Pakistani employers. And which would be the better choice amongst
1) Warwick
2) UCL
3) Edinburgh university
4)Manchester University
for prestige, name and demand of graduates in Pakistan.

Lums graduate school is pretty competitive.........and even the undergraduate school is hard to get into. imagine 500 seats and just abt every one in pakistan is applying. with their outreach programs and financial aid, they are certainly increasing in standards.

dunno about grad school. But lums undergrad is generally considered a worst case scenario at my school.

for people staying in pakistan and want a business undergraduate degree?......theres lums and theres iba, what other choice is there?

well people doing business in my school generally do go abroad.

sorry for not being too specific....actually my question was about undergtaduate.

regarding Lums i think its good not extraordinary but still alright. i know it very well coz it is just 15 min walk from my house.....Iba is also very good but then again with 12000+ applicants and 300 seats it is not easy to get into either.

coming back to my original question is there a demand for students studying in uk. coz although i ve no doubt bout it but after going thru this site, i do have some doubts. with people favouring us universities over uk. what wud be the best choice IBA, uk universities listed above or usa*for pakistan

There are so many Pakistanis in the UK, I doubt that there is any demand for them. Have you looked at their medical colleges...flooded with fresh Pakistani American/UK high school graduates. Go for USA maestro911.

Hey, Don't forget IUB - International University Bremen, (Jacobs University Bremen as of 2007), Its an excellent university, and only one in a few which offers Financial aid to international students.

The university is an English speaking one.
www.iu-bremen.de

i thought all american uni's offered aid to internationals?

state universities dont offer aid to intls

yeah except those. But thats still a good 1200 unis right there which do.

and then there are unis with limited aid for intls, like NYU and even penn, so admissions are no longer need blind.

yeah but admissions were never needblind to begin with. No uni apart from hyp and williams is needblind as far as i know. Is IUB needblind for int'ls?

i meant "need blind" financial Aid, IUB is a need blind university. As far as I know, there are only about 10-12 US universities which are need blind.

Yes Admission for international students is need blind as well! , Its merit based. Thats why we have an international student population of about 75%. (The top students from 86 countries around the world).

my bad
