What year do people party the most? Do people usually party more as the years go by? Or does the partying dwindle down as they reach their fourth year?

It really depends, have seen it go both ways. But usually the nod goes a bit more to first year when people get away from home and control.

As time goes on people tend to party a bit less, or at least not as hard. Usually, well with most rational students who are at school for school and not for babes and parties, partying tends to peak somewhere in the first two years of school, then tapers off a bit. Once people turn 21 the binge drinking is traded in for more responsible drinking, and sometimes even less drinking all together, because being able to do it anywhere takes some of the fun out of it.

I'd say first year is when people get extremely excited about their new sense of independence, and after a while they get tired of the party scene and turn to working towards planning for their future or etc.

Depends on the person. I've met people that still party just as hard as seniors than they did as freshmen. I've also met people that didn't party as a freshman but do now that they are older. I've also seen it go the other way.

varies on the school, and of course the student's mindset.

Fifth years always party harder than the freshman, mainly because they're more adapted to it...I'm pretty sure a few constantly have alcohol running through their bloodstream. Freshman/second years go to sleep/pass out early and can't handle their liquor and they usually stay away from drugs.

It's definitely the first-year students here who do the most partying. They tend to get burned out with it by the end of the first semester. Sophomores tend to just sleep a lot. :p Juniors are abroad, and seniors are writing their theses, so it kinda leaves it up to the first-years.

Freshmen because they don't have any real work. Then fifth years, next the people who just turned 21 (I don't know what people are talking about that you become more "responsible"), then and then the 2nd semester seniors who already have jobs/grad school lined up.

To get the sense of how much someone really parties, watch them about 4 months after they've turned 21. Then the access isn't an issue but the novelty of legally purchasing alcohol has warn off. Some people hit 21 and nothing changes until theyre 25 or older...

i dont think you can say its the same for everyone. i think the partying evolves throughouts college, depending on where you go. last year was mainly dorm parties. this year its the same but their bigger, and its acutally in my friends rooms. next year there will be more off campus and bars as we all start to turn 21.

but i think at BC as a whole the drinking stays pretty steady throughout. different ways of drinking in different places but its the same fun all 4 years
