Good evening. Is anyone able to post the parent brag sheet questions for me?Think they’re very busy as I had sent them an email early in the week and they replied just before school ended today and provided a username and temp password for our son, not his parents. Unfortunately, we realized it too late. We’re unable to log in and see the questions. Thank you!
The questions and format will be different for each HS. I’d suggest you ask a parent who has a child in your particular HS.
First timers here…didn’t know that. Thank you for replying.
There is one in naviance. Do it electonically so a guidance counselor who doesn’t know your kid can simply cut and paste. Put the time in.
At our HS, the brag sheet form is online under the Guidance Dept.
This is what ours asks:
We believe that parents/guardians should have a certain amount of input into the letter of recommendation we write to colleges on your student’s behalf. Consequently, we are asking for your perceptions of your child’s educational and personal growth. Use additional paper if necessary. Please feel free to use a second sheet of paper if your comments do not fit into the space provided.
- What do you consider to be your child’s most outstanding accomplishments during his/her high school years? Why did you select these as most important?
- In what areas has your child shown the most development and growth throughout high school?
- What do you consider to be his/her most outstanding personality traits?
- If you had to describe your son/daughter in five adjectives, what would they be?
- Are there any unusual or personal circumstances which have affected your child’s educational experience or personal experiences?
One of the colleges to which I applied – Reed – requested a letter from a parent as part of the application. My Mom wrote the letter. I wish she had kept it somewhere. This wasn’t supposed to be a “brag sheet” but instead a description of the child’s interests and abilities from the parent’s perspective.
@mackinaw Did you get to read the letter?
I don’t recall.
I don’t recall my parents every writing anything about me. How wonderful it would have been to have that letter.
