When the FAFSA and CSS Profile was filed, the primary money earner was unemployed. He now has a new job. Do we reach out to each school to clarify? Or does it not matter since it is based on 2015 not 2016 taxes?
It’s based on 2015 tax year.
So do we just leave it as is. He is labeled as unemployed but he is not. We do not want to look dishonest,
Are you saying that he was unemployed during the 2015 year??
Your 2016 income will be used for the 2018-2019 school year.
There are plenty of families who have higher income for 2016 than 2015. Some people actually got raises…or bonuses…or switched jobs to,higher paying jobs.
You do not need to contact the financial aid department as long as what you put on the forms was accurate and honest for 2015.
Great. Thank you. All of 2015 is accurate other than the question asking about work status. The number stay the same regardless. I appreciate your responses.
