Hi All,

I am not a parent, but I figured I would post this here in case any of you could help :) I am a second year college student and last year, my dad borrowed a parent plus loan for me and was approved with no problems. This year, he found some fraud on his credit report and was able to dispute everything, except for an unpaid credit card opened in his name(it was less than 90 days ago, so it wouldn't fall under adverse credit history as defined on the Federal Loan website). He does not fall under any other category defined as adverse credit history.

Two days ago, he applied for the Parent Plus loan for the upcoming year. Last year, from what I remember, we received a decision very quickly, within an hour from what I remember.

We still have not gotten an answer. Could this be a bad sign?

Yesterday, he also wasn't able to log onto the site, so he called, and they said the site is having some problems due to traffic(I guess everyone is rushing to get their loans done). Could the decision be delayed due to traffic?

I guess I'm just worried that because this is taking longer than last year it could be a bad sign. But then again, last year, we applied in late June, not in the middle of July when everyone is rushing to get it done.

If anyone could give me some reassurance, I would really appreciate it :)
