<p>I personally know many families who have taken out parent plus loans and this has been a life saver for them. They are able to pay back the loans in smaller payments which makes it affordable and eliminates the stress of having to come up with huge chunks of money for tuition. I know 2 families who have been able to pay off the loans earlier than expected because the payments were so low that as they paid off other debt they applied the extra funds to the student loans. The other 3 families are also trying to do this (with one of them almost there).</p>
