Does anyone know what credit score is needed to qualify (or be disqualified) for a PLUS loans, all the info I could find said 'no negative credit history'

I read this article in USA Today. Despite credit crunch, federal student loans can be easy to get - USATODAY.com

It says that 75-80% of parents will be approved for a PLUS loans. Only those who have filed bankruptcy or a forclosure will be denied.

Thanks deb922. I did a little research and found this, answering my own question. hope this is helpful to others:
"Eligibility for the PLUS loan depends on a modest credit check that determines whether the parent as an adverse credit history. An adverse credit history is defined as being more than 90 days late on any debt or having any Title IV debt (including a debt due to grant overpayment) within the past five years subjected to default determination, bankruptcy discharge, foreclosure, repossession, tax lien, wage garnishment, or write-off."

A friend of mine was denied for a PLUS loan, and she thinks it was because she and her husband didn't have enough recent credit history. They paid off their house long ago and don't use credit cards much. Her daughter was able to get an extra amount on the Stafford loan after the parents were denied.
