Parents don't let me go to a four-year

I am a senior in high school and I applied to many colleges. I heard back from nine colleges and I got in. However, my parents and sister from a long time ago kept telling me to not try so hard in high school because I’m just going to community. However, that is not what I want. I have a GPA of over 4.0. I applied for FAFSA and my parents will have to pay 24,000. They don’t want me to go because it’s expensive, my sister went and came back after one semester and wasted so much money, they think I will waste time just like my sister, they don’t trust me, ect. My family is traditional and I don’t get to go out a lot so me moving out is too much for them but it’s not the older generation anymore.

If your parents don’t want to pay, then you could be out of luck. Have you filled out all the financial aid paperwork at all of your schools, and do you have your FA packages back? Did any of them offer merit scholarships? FAFSA doesn’t tell you how much you will pay for a specific college – each college calculates their own aid and cost of attendance.

What are your ACT or SAT scores?
