ok, thank you

i went to the library a couple weeks ago and they told me to bring them a schedule of how this tutoring thing will be. i still don't know how to make my schedule. should i bring about 5 kids per week. what if membership increases? i cant control all kids... how should i manage my schedule?

You can limit the number of students that you are willing to tutor at any one time.

Your limit will depend in part on the facilities that you have available. You can teach more kids in a separate room than you can at a library table.

But even in a room you'll want to set a limit.

If you have the time, and there is the interest, you can also run more than one "section", or tutor multiple days per week.

hmm nice idea ADAD. i am planning to take about 3-4 kids since it's teaching and im no certified professional teacher to take 10+ kids. i'm definitely thinking friday after school. library closes at 5 or 6 still not sure but i still got some time for teaching. i will be planning to teach on tables, but i will ask if i could borrow a room, that would be even better. i don't think i can saturday nor sunday. i don't think so for weekdays.

so it's very little time and im worried if it's TOO little. i'll try to put all my passion into these ec's *they will be the only ones. im planning on for spanish (as said before) maybe english for those new immigrants that have a difficult time getting along with the american life, and later on maybe teach jump rope ???? i dunno. maybe. maybe kids could get hurt.. ouch... ouch for them and ouch for me. i think that is kinda risky.

i also need to think about the time. these kids are elementary kids. 3rd graders.. maybe? so how long do you recommend each class should go for? 20 minutes? 30 minutes? would they get bored after 30 mins?

so basically i limit myself taking only 4-5 kids per week? since they would like to come weekly and imagine other kids also want to join? what should i do? every 4-5 kids coming for a 30 min class, then another 4-5 kids for another 30 min class? - if you dont understand, say so, im just in a hurry.

what do you recommend me considering the qusetions above?

whoa... just heard from my friend that starting to tutor kids is hard to get started. first of all, i got to sign contracts and papers (?) since im underage (16) and since im teaching little kids i am in a very responsible position, plus if something minimal that goes wrong with the kids then it's the smasher in my head? for example, can parents can sue me, because maybe kids got hurt on their heads because i accidentaly hit them with the book? is that even possible? whoa, now Americans are sueing everything on anything - mcD's coffee's too hot, thief that trespassed sued owner of house b/c there was something on the floor that made him fall down, etc..)

i'm afraid anything bad will go. he told me it takes months to even start in this thing! i dunno, he just told me, now i don;t know what to do! still, i gotta go visit the park for more info.... sigh...*

I am sure that you can address these issues, in consultation with the adults involved.

thank you for encouraging me to not lose my hope. I really need to pay attention with what i want to do. i'll address these questions to my counselor, i hope she will provide me good answers. thank you.

counselor is too busy! argh.. i want to get started on this tutoring thing

You are taking Spanish now?

Why not just start tutoring in your school, while you are working on your other ideas? I would be willing to bet that your teacher would welcome the help and would encourage you.

Tutoring in your school would get you started and would be a good experience for you, pending your other ideas.
