Am counting down the days until D16 comes home for a visit this weekend!

I fully expected to be completely at sea with an empty nest, but at least on weekends, that hasn’t been the case. H and I literally spent every weekend from the time D was maybe 4 from one thing to another at least part of each day. We had to plan ahead if we wanted to do something WE had in mind. Now-we get up late, lounge around, finally get dressed and go do what we want, and either eat out at an affordable favorite spot or cook something WE prefer.
Then we are in for the night (or we stay out late) without having to worry about getting up early the next day. And we always talk to D on one or both evenings. It’s been great.

Our girl is missing her boyfriend very much, and her high school friends. But, she seems to have lucked out in the roommate department. They get along well.

Tell your kids you love them and are there for them tonight. There are some things you never think you will see but then you do. I’m okay

My MIL died on Friday after a protracted battle with cancer. She was on hospice and it was not unexpected. Funeral will be small and next Saturday. D16 and S19 are ok. H has his moments

FAFSA- I know I just filled this out 8 months ago but, it feels like I don’t have the foggiest idea what to do. :-/
I think this may be a Thanksgiving break task.
