<p>Any advice on which bus to take from Midway Airport to Ida Noyes? Looks like #55 or #59 would work, but I can't decide which is best. Thanks!</p>
<p>It seems #55 works very well. It takes you directly from MDW to 55 street campus, close to Pierce Dining hall and Max. Roughly 45 minutes.</p>
<p>There’s a 59 bus from Midway Airport, too, that would drop you off across the Midway from Ida Noyes – and that’s several looong blocks closer than the 55. It’s a less direct, less easily understandable route than the 55, and it doesn’t run as frequently as the 55, but it’s perfectly nice, and even a little less depressing than the 55 because it passes fewer bombed-out structures. You would get off at 61st and Woodlawn, a couple blocks past South Campus dorm, and walk two blocks north (the second block being the Midway) to Ida Noyes. I took it once on a whim (it was there, the 55 wasn’t, and I was going to International House, which is on the north side of the Midway a few blocks east of Ida Noyes), and it worked out great.</p>
<p>The two bus stops are right next to one another at the airport, so you can decide which to take when you see what’s going to leave first. As I said, the 55 runs a lot more frequently, and the 59 doesn’t run at all on Sundays. But if it’s cold, or raining, or you have heavy luggage, you may well prefer the 59.</p>
