Parents, what is YOUR dream school?

Spanglish was an OK movie. I felt like they should have focused more on Tea Leoni.

I love how any topic can turn into a movie topic.

I personally considered going to a 12:01 showing of "The Aviator", that is how excited I am for this movie. Growing up when I did, I held the common belief that Hughes was nothing more than a recluse. I'm excited to learn more - it's great when a movie can be a history lesson too (when taken with a grain of salt).

Having twins going through the college process and looking at totally different types of programs and schools, I have learned about so many fabulous opportunities that I never knew existed. A few schools stand out as completely unique and special.

If I had my choice to do college all over as an 18-year old or to return now as an adult, I'd go to St. John's College in Annapolis in a heartbeat. It's the ultimate liberal arts school, with total focus on the Great Books. Discussion of ideas, developing of writing skills, real literature - I wish I could start today!

Looking back, I really would have liked to have gone to Cornell. I love the campus, the rolling hills, the history, the waterfalls! NY is my ancestral state, so I have a strong feeling for it. I attended a now defunct LAC (Eisenhower), which was also in the Finger Lakes and we used to go down to Cornell on the weekends. I never even thought about going there when choosing college. Here is the dumbest reason to go to a college--because your HS boyfriend applied there. I'm glad I'm a lot smarter now.

Did you marry your high school boyfriend? Then you know if you made a wise decision in those days!!!
