@iwanteverything I’m interested in film, but I haven’t decided what area I want to work in. There are so many options: directing, production design, screenwriting, producing, etc. I’m also interested in environmental studies (I’m vegetarian, trying to go zero waste). I feel like it could be a place that helps me grow out of my shell. I’ve been reading A LOT of reviews about it on College Confidential and some people love it and some despise it. The most common thing people have said is, "if your independent, driven, and “hippie” " it’s the school for you. I attend online school so I feel like it would be a good match for me.
@clementimme yeah I think the first year allows you to kind of find your path so I don’t think you have to be 100% set in your major by the time you commit! and yeah I joined earlier today!!
@rfm512 you’re right. If it wasn’t for the crazy expensive room in board the school would be similar to most colleges. I do know someone how lives in New York. Unfortunately, I haven’t talked to them since I was a child (my dad’s friends son). I might try and get in contact with him. I was thinking about living off campus, but I feel like it is important (and something most people do) to meet people in the dorms during freshman year so hopefully during sophomore year I could live in an apartment with friends. - I hope I do! Thanks for your help!
@aaaandyy There is. You should see it somewhere on your admissions hub page. All you have to do is complete a google docs form and then it will send you a link. After that you’ll have to submit more information (just if you have completed the application and your N number) and wait to be accepted into the group. It doesn’t take that long.
So I just called. They said that because they released so many last Friday it completely broke their website. So now they are slowly releasing each day this week until we all know. They said everyone will know by Friday. Good luck everyone
@Kemiu0101 I had the same dilemma! As far as I know, the main information that is told to the students is recorded and uploaded to YouTube, or at least last year the Admitted Students day talk was uploaded. Aside from that if you want to visit the dorms and stuff like that maybe (?) but I don’t know if it’s worth going… in my case I’m a international student to its expensive to travel just to attend the event so it kind of depends
@isaf99 Thank you, but I think maybe I will go. To get acquainted with other admitted students or something like that, since I am studying in a high school in the U.S. for now so it shouldn’t be too far away.
Just got son’s financial aid letter sent via email. We knew he had a $20K scholarship, but the aid letter indicates an additional $9K award. What a lovely surprise…don’t know yet if this is really a doable endeavor, but makes our kiddo feel 10 feet tall.
I feel for all of y’all who are still left hanging. I hope the school gets back to you soon!
Has anyone else noticed that the Parsons acceptance rate varies from a bunch of different websites? I got in and will probably end up going but that is making me a bit skeptical.
