I was wondering if applying to Part Time/ Evening programs would increase my chances of getting into Law School. I don't have very high stats so I want to do anything that would increase my chances of getting in.
Thanks!

programs to where? Do you mean at a local uni or cc?

to law school, univerisity. Any feedback would be helpful! Thanks

You can get into a law school from a part-time or evening college program. To get into any law school you will need a very good GPA and very good LSAT score. If you come from an evening or part-time program with the necessary scores, chance are your best bet would be a local law school rather than the top ones.

If you mean part-time/evening law school, yes, generally, it is easier to get in. One (large) caveat: it is more difficult to be employed afterwards, because you aren't following the very traditional track of 2L summer at a firm or wherever. In fact, you probably won't work summers - you'll already have a job. Just a thought.

Yes, but the 2L track only applies to the larger law firms. Smaller firms and corporations, neither of which tend to hire students for the summer, are still possibilities, as are govenment agencies, prosecutors' and public defenders' offices and nonprofits. Even larger law firms may offer some opportunities, but you'll have to compete with those whom the firm has already observed in action.

I second what Dadofsam said: I went to a night program. 4 nights a weeks for 4 years, plus 3 Summers. Worked fulltime days (DA's office) -- sure did not feel "part-time" to me.

Maybe it was the time -- early 80's -- but everyone who wanted work found it pretty easily.

I also went to law school at night. It is not part-time since one takes the same curriculum as the day students, only over one additional year (9-10 credits a semester instead of 12 or so). However, an awful lot of people attend law school that way, in every major city in the US.
The job market varies with the times, but those who attend law school at night usually already have jobs and can continue in them for a while if necessary, while seeking a job as a lawyer.
