Partiers

House parties are awesome lol. It’s a lot of fun. Usually, one of my friends hosts, and like 10 kids from our high school and like 15 of his sister’s Columbia friends come over and we just party all night. We do that like once a month; great way to spend a Friday night.

Until last year I wasn’t big on the party scene, but after working at a summer camp with older (i.e. 21+) staff members who liked to host parties, I got more into it. I’ll go to a house party every once in a while, but I LOVE going to concerts/music events because everyone’s just having a good time and music is awesome and no one cares if a minor is smoking/drinking haha

I do not party. At all. Ever. End of story.

;-) Okay, now I will contradict my last statement (“end of story”) by explaining. . . . I am the shy, quiet type; I am extremely introverted and cannot stand crowds, huge socializing events, etc.

@Waves I use to be like that in 6-7th grade. I know this sounds cliche but once I joined the soccer team I realized how much fun partying can be. I mean provided I guess I’m excessive with it. But, as I state before, it does NOT affect my grades/sports. My bestfriend is our class #2 and she’s insane! You just need a push. Mine came from soccer teammates.

I party occasionally. I moved to a new school last year and I don’t mesh that well with the student population overall, although most of the kids are quite decent. I got invited some times but I mostly don’t go. The ones I did go to were quite fun though  .

I’ve had alcohol a few times and I don’t care too much for the taste although it does help in loosening up somewhat, haha. The drinking age here is only 18, so underage drinking not as big of a deal as in the 'States. I personally think it’s a good idea if younger people are exposed to alcohol by mature folks who don’t see the point of alcohol consumption as getting ****faced. That way, people won’t go and try to overdo it in order to rebel or whatever. IMO, one drink (hard liquor) or some beer is fine…I don’t see the point in getting roaring drunk though. Being braindead with a hangover sounds very unfun.

I don’t party. And I have no desire to drink. I have lots of fun with friends and such, but none of us drink at all. We don’t want to, really.
Despite what I’ve seen a couple people say here, I don’t feel like I’m missing out on anything. It’s not like I’m staying completely conserved because of the lack of alcohol. My friends and I just act kind of crazy while we’re sober, I guess.

Alcoholism runs in my family. Pretty much none of the adults can ever drink without getting drunk and annoying the living hell out of everyone else, so I have an intense and possibly illogical aversion to drinking in general and underage drinking in particular. I seem to have an addictive personality anyway…I drink several gallons of Diet Coke every day and that’s not even technically addictive, so I’m afraid if I ever drank more than a little I’d turn into an alcoholic right away.

Caffeine is pretty addictive.

^Yes, if you tried to stop drinking Coke suddenly, you would probably get horrible headaches.

Yeah, I get headaches after about 12 hours without it.
But it doesn’t happen with coffee or energy drinks. I drink them maybe once every couple of months without any problems. It’s diet soda specifically, which leads me to believe it’s the sweeteners, and I don’t know if they’ve been proven or demonstrated to be addictive.

I take Excedrin for headaches, which I’ve gotten since I was very young, and now I’m addicted to the stuff. If I don’t take it, I get a bad headache! It’s a vicious cycle.

I never did in hs. Because of my background I had to remain focused. Yup.
Won’t be partying (the wild kind with drinking, drugs and creeps) in college either.

The party scene at my high school isn’t huge so I’d say I party (as in like legit party) maybe once a month/once every 6 weeksish. I don’t consider hanging out with friends partying because I usually don’t have much time to hangout with friends, and when I do it’s mostly sitting around with my teammates watching a movie of something.

Like mmmgirl, I’m homeschooled, so not much of the stereotypical high school parties. But the country I’m living in at the moment has a legal drinking and clubbing age of 18, so even high schoolers here don’t really throw any parties heh :)

I go to parties about 2-3 times per month…although usually I DD for my friends, who aren’t exactly high achieving. Parties at my school are really big and generally quite fun, so it’s worth going. I’m glad I’ve been able to party a bit before college…I won’t go too nuts once I get there and know my limits.

i do but secretly i guess? my parents dont know

Our parties are almost always in clubs. They don’t check your ID here, they just let you in if you look old enough. It’s pretty fun. We usually head to this bar for pre-drinking at around 10, and then go to a club at 11 or 12 and leave at 3 or 4 in the morning. You can almost always meet new people from other schools.
