I love creative writing with all my heart. I love fiction, I love creating new worlds. Unfortunately, everyone around me thinks that such a major isn’t practical and won’t help me find a high-paying job. Thus, I’m probably majoring in a STEM field when I know it’s the last thing I want to be doing. It’s my dream to publish a book one day, but I feel like majoring in a stem field will just hinder this goal. I just wanted to get this out there, its been bothering me lately
What you do in your life is up to you. Getting the highest paying job is not everything. However, writers get paid very little and I suggest doing it as a hobby or long-term goal on the sidelines. If your passion for writing a book continues in the next five years, then go for it.
