Passive Voice in essay

ok so i focused on the content of my essay a lot more than the way i presented it.... my grammar is correct BUT i use passive voice a lot, but trust me i do a rly good job and its clear, not sure if its super intersting... but will it hurt me that it's in passive? should i rewrite in active voice?

the passive voice usually lessens the power of the content, it distances the actions so they are not as substantial. I did this but then changed them to active voice and the content came to the fore.

Agreed, I would try rewriting in active voice and see if it doesn't become more interesting. Now, sometimes the best way to say something is in passive voice; every passive voice sentence doesn't have to go, but you should use them rarely/only with justification.

I don't know what passive and active voice are, but from the wikipedia article I think I'm generally using active voice, and all I've been doing is writing what sounds best to me.
