Hi I had a question.
I would be attending UC Berkeley next fall and leaving UCLA due to family reasons.
Anyways I want to some day become a Patent Attorney and did some research.

I would have to have a science BS degree and then go onto Law School and then take the California State Bar and then Take the Patent Bar according to my interpretation.

The only question I have is whether or not I qualify for the Patent Bar because according to OED (patent bar org) I dont meet the requirement but I can perhaps fall under
Category B: and meet the requirements which are either

Option 1:

24 semester hours in physics. Only physics courses for physics majors will be accepted.

Option 2:

32 semester hours in a combination consisting of the following:

* 8 semester hours of chemistry or 8 semester hours of physics, and
* 24 semester hours in biology, botany, microbiology, or molecular biology.

The 8 semester hours in chemistry or 8 semester hours of physics must be obtained in two sequential semesters, each semester including a lab. Only courses for science or engineering majors will be accepted. All acceptable coursework must be for science or engineering majors.

Option 3:

30 semester hours in chemistry. Only chemistry courses for chemistry majors will be accepted.

Option 4:

40 semester hours in a combination consisting of the following:

* 8 semester hours of chemistry or 8 semester hours of physics, and
* 32 semester hours of chemistry, physics, biology, botany, microbiology, molecular biology, or engineering.

The 8 semester hours of chemistry or 8 semester hours of physics must be obtained in two sequential semesters, each semester including a lab. Only courses for science or engineering majors will be accepted.

After doing some research, I am wondering of my major at UC Berkeley, Microbial Biology, help me meet the requirement since I am unclear of what the semester hours are and also because I don't want to jump into a major that would lead me down this tricky career path.
Therefore, could someone let me know if this major of microbial biology, work and help me meet the patent bar requirements? Thanks Please feel free to share any other tips as well.
