Patent Law

Anyone have any good stories of studying and going into patent law with an engineering background? This sounds interesting to me and I'd like to know how practical it is to go from engineering to law.

Look on the law forums, they have a thread about IP law (I'm interested in IP/patent law as well).

One of my friends went from computer science and engineering and ended up at Stanford law. He's now having a great time at his lawyer job at Silicon Valley. I got to ride in his BMW convertible. It was pretty slick.

In my next life I'm gonna be rich. sigh!

(Engineering + patent law is typically known as a pretty good combo.)

^ any idea what his GPA was for undergrad?

Judging that he graduated cum laude, it was probably around a 3.7 or 3.8, from Rice.
