<p>Yes, UCI does offer free room & board to their Resident Advisers. However, these positions are well coveted and they’re not going to just give them to anyone. You shouldn’t be a Resident Adviser for the perks, you should be it because you truly want the position. A good/bad RA makes a difference in someone’s freshman year!!</p>
<p>How many hours does an RA usually work (weekly)? </p>
<p>The FAQ says “CP/RA staff are allowed to have outside commitments (e.g. outside job, club membership, volunteer work, etc.) for up to 10 hours a week”. 10 hours/week for outside activities seems kinda low to me.</p>
