Wow! Thanks so much for this heads-up !

That is great news!! Thank you so much for sharing!! I saw it last summer and it was AWESOME!!

I saw it tonight.
One word ... AMAZING

I cried from the time it started (esp when Fabrizio sang) to the time it ended. How could the reviews have been anything but stellar?

Does anyone know where the various actors/composers attended college?

Mtminded,

A group of us watched this last night and we were having this discussion. One of those present knows a few of the cast and this is the information which was shared by several:

Adam Guettel, the composer who is from a fabulously musically talented family is a Yale grad. The wonderful Victoria Clark, is also a Yale grad, and worked and studied at NYU's program for new composers. Chris Sarandon, I believe, got his MFA (and first wife Susan Sarandon!) at Catholic Univ.

Unsure about Michael Berresse and Patti Cohenour (but I have to say that she was the absolute best Christine I've ever seen in Phantom!).

Aaron Lazar, who happens to be the son of a friend, is an amazingly talented young man and he attended Duke, with the intention of being a doctor. He went to CCM, where he had a program designed for him, and that's where he received his MFA.

Sarah Uriarte Berry is a UCLA grad. Katie Clarke went to Sam Houston.

That's all I can remember, offhand, but I do know that there are two additional Yale grads in the ensemble and also one from Columbia.

Go Yale!!!!!!!

Wow, My d and I were so impressed with the production, and Aaron Lazar what a major talent. I can't wait to watch his career.

You think he'd have interest in a younger woman (my d)? Maybe in an older woman (lol me).

What a great night. Thank you PBS, more please.

Locomom, you're right! LOL. Isn't Aaron adorable? Sorry to tell you that he's married!

Piazza is actually Aaron's third Broadway show and in the fall, he's going to play Enjolras in the Les Mis revival. :)

I'll pay to see that.

Just finally watched the special today. I had taped it and just got around to watching the tape today. I saw the show this past summer with mathew morrison and kelly o'hara..i enjoyed watching the new leads and their new tiny interpretations and deliveries of songs, lines, body language and such. It is my absolute favorite show. I love the music and I am a little biased being a proud Italian boy myself.

Also the intermission behind the scenes was really neat. And all that work for that poor guy on that rope just to make that little hat fly around lol.

Did anyone TiVo this and upload it on their computer...because I only have part of it on VHS and really would like the beginning. I actualyl missed the Beauty Is...which I totally adore.

Its one of the few shows on Broadway that I really like. I couldn't stand 90% of what was considered for the Tonys this year. Hope Adam Guettel has a long and wonderful career ahead of him. We need truely talented people like him instead of the jukebox musicals that we're getting today.
