<p>It is important for students to follow through when they think their aid is incorrect. It may end up that it was right, after all, but even so every student deserves to understand what was done & why. Sometimes the schools are wrong. NEVER accept the brush-off from a school. If you do not get answers, go to the top … even if that is the president of the school.</p>
<p>I am guessing it was more than just a Pell issue if the Ombudsman helped … I bet there were loans that were messed up, too. The Ombudsman will help with loan issues but often refers students back to their schools for grant questions. But it is always worth calling if you think the school is wrong (because some are).</p>
