Hello everyone. New to the site and looking for advice. Over the winter I was awarded some loans and grants, including a $2k Pell Grant, for this current semester. A few weeks ago I went onto the school's Financial Aid website to check when it would be dispersed and I saw that my loans still had not processed and suddenly my Pell Grant for the fall disappeared (it was still there for the Spring). That same day I got a letter from the processor of a past loan saying the school told them I was going to school half time and I would soon have to start repaying the loan. Next day I went to the FA office and was told that a red flag was raised in their system because they did not have a copy of my GED in their system. I told them I have been taking classes there for 5 years and that I took care of that when I first enrolled. They also said this is why they told my loan processor I was half time- which makes absolutely NO sense because I am a full time student. They clearly lied about that. I did not receive a phone call or email telling me there was a problem. I would have never known about this if I had not noticed my Pell Grant disappearing on their website. I was told I needed to get a transcript and give it to enrollment but they did not know if I would get my Pell Grant back. I got the transcript, turned it in and now my loans have been processed but my Pell Grant is still not showing for the Fall semester.

If I do not get my Pell Grant back do I have any recourse? I feel the school really screwed this up by not letting me know there was any sort of problem. In addition they clearly lied to my loan processor about my enrollment status and who knows what they told the people who handle Pell Grants. This is $2k that I lost that I desperately need to get by. Any help or advice would be appreciated! Thanks!
