I don’t think that the Admissions Office necessarily frowns on an applicant simply because he/she took the SAT more than twice, but my understanding is that it’s not something they encourage. Up until the Admissions web site was completely redone this year, there used to be the following language:

^ That’s a guess that’s been going around here. Apparently we’ll be receiving emails from Penn pretty soon about when the actual decision date is.

^ And if they use the same page for decisions that they have used the last few years (it’s not the same as your regular Applicant Portal), the date and time will also appear here:

wow i’m stressing out… then again maybe they’re waiting for me to send in my SAT II scores on december 4th… because i was supposed to send them my 2 SAT IIs a long time ago but because of Sandy the test was postponed and i’m only gonna hear back from collegeboard on dec 4th… and i tell specify this to my regional officer so she might’ve told the admissions people to hold on to my file

^If you’re worried about the status of your application, just give the admissions office a call. I’ve called them a few times to clarify some things, and they were extremely nice about it! And then you’ll be able to put your worries to rest :)

–

Compulsively checking my email in ten-minute intervals for the message that’ll inform us when decisions will be released.

I love Penn, but all this waiting is making me wish I hadn’t applied ED so the rejection won’t hurt as much. It’s like a courtship ritual: as ED applicants, we profess our sole devotion to Penn. But if we’re rejected… </3

^I know what you mean. I’m already pretty sure I’ll be rejected, but I know that once I see it on paper (or pixel, I suppose), it’s going to hit me like a sack of bricks.

I don’t know if this really belongs in this discussion thread, but I was wondering-
My school has trimesters and our first tri grades come out this friday. If the school sends them by monday or so, do you think they’ll even be looked at?
I know it’s really not a big issue at all, but I worked really hard expecting these grades to be the latest on my transcript (the grade deadline was supposed to be about two weeks ago but they extended it for some reason) and got the highest grades I’ve ever gotten which also bring my unweighted gpa up a bit.
It would be nice to know this work might be seen by my ed school before decisions are made…

I’m a dad and I’m as excited as my D. Hoping that a lifetime of really hard work nets her her number one choice.

I know that she and kids like her work extremely hard, play hard and usually carry a huge load on their shoulders as leaders of multiple organizations.

According to the Columbia thread, there’s a way to find a potential ED date on your CSS profile… I think it’s under “acknowledgements”… Can anyone verify that???
