<p>but i mean...if the DP is anywhere near as reputable as they claim it is, it shouldnt matter that its not a positive story. I always read about some murder story on the DP and im sure thats a much bigger deal than 100 fewer applicants in the ED pool.</p>
<p>Quick question: Im not applying as one, but do joint degree applicants find out on dec 14 whether they got into their second choice school if they get denied from the joint-degree or do they have to wait</p>
<p>100-200 fewer applicants is really nothing to be worried about. when you think about it, most of those applicants probably came from CAS and Wharton, and those two schools probably get like what, a good 3700ish of the total 4000 ED applications anyway. thus, the percentage change is going to be really minor from each school, and probably will result in a negligible effect in admissions decisions.</p>

<p>okay if some1 wants to make a big deal about this is why.....last year Penn ed apps went up 21%!!! thats a huge increase and for the apps to decline this year is great if not lucky....think about even if the apps had increased y half of last years increase (10%) we would be looking at around 4500 apps, instead we are looking at 4000 ( diff of 500)...but if you werent expecting a increase which I dont see how one would, then the info isnt that important, but to the rest of the 99.9% of penn eders who did think there would be an increase, its a fortunate turn of events</p>
<p>maybe its penn's tiny and practically insignificant "slip" in the rankings. from my perspective (really small sample size though), asians seem to care more about rankings...</p>
