This is a fake article. Notice the grammatical mistakes (like "from" instead of "to" the University of Pennsylvania). It seems like the writer must not have been a native English speaker. Also, it is rare to see articles so specific to Penn with no further explanation as to why or any indication of a broader significance for the writing of the article in the first place. Honestly, I think the person that posted it wrote it himself. I would just wait for your decision. Good luck.

Great... I was excited for nothing... argh...

wow if it is fake....props to mandy89 you just fooled some of the smartest teens around..

It's not fake. The reporter might have put "from" the university of Pennsylvania as a separate idea.. like "The number of students applying for
early decision" ..."from the University of Pennsylvania is down 2.5
percent this year" (As in she got her info from Penn, which is true)

Everything fits. The contact info, the reporter, the style. I don't think this article sounds in any way written by a foreign person. People are too paranoid

well that's comforting... b/c all of ppl seeing how its really near the decision date is super paranoid, me including... lol...

the article is in the bloomberg terminal which is only available for bloomberg subscribers.

Penn being the bastion of awesomeness that it is, has Bloomberg terminals for public use. I'll pop on in and check one in Huntsman at some point.

i always said I loved you JohnnyK

What's up with daily pennsylvanian? Why is there such a huge delay compared to last year?

yea, I know it's Dec. 4th and still no official stats.... ??????

Still nothing!

eh, i hope they only got like....100 applicants ED to the school of engineering...or better yet, i hope only me and a few other people on this board applied to SEAS ED.....

seriously though, this is taking forever. i wish Penn released school specific stats, that would be much more representative to the prospective student. although, that might scare people away from applying to Wharton ED :)

JohnnyK where are you?

unlike last year, i think that they aren't gonna have an early decisions article until after decisions go out.... way to go, DP :)

maybe they also want to include admission rates?

c'mon DP...I want individual school statistics!

I have a feeling that the number of Wharton ED apps increased..

im predicting a 35% admit rate for the entire university... well, actually it might go up now... cuz they want to fill the same percent of the class with ED kids... but i dont see it going higher than 40%... which means 2 in 5 of us will get in... but cuz were smarter than the general population of students applying maybe 5 in 10 of us CC will get in...

35% early? I think that might be high. Maybe low 30s. It was 28% last year, and I doubt it'll increase more than 5%, if it increases at all.

my bad, i thought it was low 30s last year...

so then maybe 2 in 5 cc kids will get in

lets hope increase in wharton ED apps corresponds with decrease in SEAS ED apps :)
