Penn Museum Underappreciated?

Is it just me, or do applicants applying to Penn and even Penn students themselves underappreciate Penn’s musuem? I went on two tours there and neither of them mentioned the museum at all. I also haven’t seen anyone here interested in the museum at all. Lmk your thoughts because I’m just curious.

Penn has, by far, the best Anthropology and Archaeology museum I have seen at any college. I think more people should go to see it.

@Much2learn Exactly my point! That’s why it baffles me that the tour guides would mention that toast zamboni but not their museum… not to mention it’s never on any flyers!

Now, hold on there. I like the toast zamboni! Penn has the best toast zamboni! lol

I agree that they should mention the full-size Sphinx and other amazing things you can see at the museum. D took a course in Classic Latin and the professor took them to the museum where they were allowed to view and handle very old original documents (properly with supervision). It really made an impression on her. Somehow it is very different when it is real and not just another picture in a book.

Oh yeah, for sure. I went there once during like, my last week on campus because the Wharton Behavioral Lab was doing a $20 study that took place there. I couldn’t believe I hadn’t taken advantage of it before, and by then it was too late.
