Penn or Columbia Easier to Get into??

Do you think it is easier to get into University of Pennsylvania college or Columbia college, for regular decision, for a Canadian applicant? More specifically, which school places more emphasis on SAT's/academics then extracurriculars? I really like both of them and I'm trying to evaluate where I have a better chance at. I'm confused, because Columbia has that scary 10% admittance rate (Penn's is ~20%), but USNews ranks Penn's admissions to be more difficult than Columbias.
Help!!

dunno about SATs, but I would say Columbia College is definitely harder than Penn's college. Barnard and SEAS would raise Columbia University's admissions rate (though Barnard is generally considered seperately, while SEAS tends to be mixed in). Wharton would lower Penn's.

Since you say the COLLEGE for both, definetly columbia. Upenn is no walk through the park, but the numbers don't lie, it's just easier.

umm....judging by today...def. Penn.

take my school for example:

-Today, brilliant girl gets defered @ Columbia (1500, cum laude, 4.0, etc).
-Today, average people get into penn: 12-1400 SAT, etc.

columbia I can say with almost no doubt isn't as willing to admit on stats alone (or EC's) it seems personality through recs/essays is becoming increasingly important- not that UPenn doesn't look at that stuff too, but to a lesser degree
