Penn State Housing

I have a question about housing. My roommate put in her deposit in early January. I just put in my deposit on April 4th. We both put down the East renovated dorms as a preference. Is there a chance we will still get our first choice because she committed earlier? If it helps, we both put down roommates as the most important thing to us when being assigned to housing. I’d really prefer to not be in Supplemental. Also, will the new acceptance deadline of June 1 because of co-vid change the housing assignment timeline?

In any other times I’d say you wouldn’t get renovated but friend will. But right now this is different times.

Do you think the June 1 deadline will change things as to when people are assigned to supplemental? If the later commit is not assigned to supplemental, will they be assigned a room according to the early January commit date?

Did you designate each other officially as roommates on the form? In that case, the rule typically is that whoever deposited first “counts” for both roommates. If you haven’t, contact Housing.

I think that supplemental housing might not happen the way it has in the past due to current COVID-19; might be that campus ask more upper classman to live off campus. Will be interesting to see how it all plays out

Yes, we both put each other down as the first choice roomate. I’m crossing my fingers that they assign us to a room by her commitment date!
