Hello,
I’m considering attending PSU next fall and was wondering how good the market is for internships. Are they easy to get? Are many of them paid? If so, what is the average pay? Does being in the Schreyer honors college provide any advantages? I’m planning to major in engineering (mechanical or possibly chemical). Thank you in advance for any and all comments!

D2’s boyfriend graduated in 2014 as a MechE. He was in Schreyers and had paid internships every summer. When he graduated, he had at least four job offers that I know of, two of which came from the companies he had interned with. I’ll admit I don’t know if being in SHC had anything to do with either the job offers or the internships, but his GPA was as close to perfect as you can get.
His younger brother, a computer engineering major, goes to Pitt and has been working either internships or co-ops every year as well.
I suspect if you go to any decent engineering school and do well academically, you’ll stand a good chance of landing internships.
