Hi everyone, I got accepted into the Statistics programs at both Pitt and Penn State. I need to make a decision soon. I always wanted to attend Penn state but after learning about its huge population I am not sure I want to go there. I am also a suburban girl big cities intimidates me. I do not know which school has a better statistics program could you please help me with your advice and suggestions? Thank You so much for your answers!!

Well, if you do better in smaller classes, Pitt is likely the better choice. If you are interested in biostatistics at all, Pitt is a no brainer.

Pittsburgh is a city with a small town feel and is consistently rated as one of the best cities to live in the US. It’s essentially a city made up of of a bunch of neighborhoods and it is one of the friendliest in the country. I don’t think you’ll stay intimidated by the city for very long at all. The majority of your fellow freshmen will be new to the city (only about 17% of students come from Allegheny County) so there will be plenty of your classmates trying finding their way around their new environs right there with you.
