Could you please give me some insights for these:
Academics(work load)
Nightlife
Diversity
Guys
Athletics
Campus Dining
Dorms/Residential college
Student-to-student

Could you rank it by 1-10 near it. I can't figure it out which to choose? Thanks

This would depend on financial aid. All things being equal-RICE hands down. Penn St is a very good place, but Rice is on par with the Emory’s, Northwestern’s, Vanderbilt’s of the world.

not even close, rice is the better of the two.
That said, it’s a lot tougher to get in, unless you’ve got the stats for it. Penn State’s still nice tho.

Academics - Rice
Nightlife - Rice (Houston)
Diversity - Rice (more states are represented, not sure about ethnicity - look it up)
Guys - Penn State (although Rice has a better ratio for girls)
Athletics - Penn State
Campus dining - Penn State (probably has more choices because it’s larger)
Dorms - Rice (some of the best dorms of any college)
Student-to-student - ?? what’s this?

[]academics - 10
[]workload - 8 or 9 (as an engineer/math double major; varies depending on major/class selection)
[]nightlife - 8 or 9 - there is always something to do, either on campus or in Houston. Whatever you can think of, it’s happening.
[]diversity - 10 - I’ve met people from all over the place and from all kinds of backgrounds. It’s really been an awesome, eye-opening experience especially considering the pretty homogenous hometown I come from.
[]guys - between 5 to 8 - like I said, there’s a lot of diversity, and the type of guys you get is no exception. Definitely a lot of introverted, nerdy guys, a fair share of extroverted party animals, and everything in between. Pretty much everyone’s nice though, so no need to worry about that.
[]athletics - 8 - D1 teams that do fairly well (especially baseball and track and field). Free admission to all home games, and usually a good number of students go to each game. The big IM sport is powderpuff, but there’s plenty of other sports represented. We also have a few club sports (off the top of my head there’s crew, volleyball, tennis, and baseball, and probably others).
[]campus dining - 8 or 9 - there’s a good selection and you can eat at any of the four (soon to be five I believe) serveries on campus. The food isn’t always the best but it’s tolerable. Smallish amount of vegetarian/vegan options, but the kitchen staff is usually pretty accommodating.
[]residential colleges - 9 - my favorite part of Rice. Most of the colleges are pretty nice, and some are great, the only exception being Lovett, but they have other redeeming qualities. Rooms are fairly large. Usually suites made up or 2 or 3 doubles, there are a few singles on campus. Two brand new colleges and two with new wings.

Not sure what you mean by student-to-student, so I can’t answer that. I do know a few anthropology/sociology majors and they seem to like the programs.

Both school were ranked among colleges with the happiest students by either Huffington Post or Princeton review. Can’t remember which one. But just thought I’d throw that in.
