Penn State: World Campus for Veterans

Hello College Confidential community members! It’s been a while since Ive been on this forum and alot has changed since Ive been here.

So here is my question…

I recently enlisted in the United States Army and will go to my first duty station in the next month (still in training). I thought it would be smart of me to begin planning my education path/goals (I am active duty). I came across Penn State’s world campus online degree program and was wondering if I can get some input on this program and how everything works, especially for students that are in active duty military service.

I do have one additional question for those who are already in this program…Is it possible to transition from the world campus to one of the commonwealth campuses at Penn State?

Thank you for your inputs!

Penn State world campus is considered by many agencies as the best online program in the country. It holds the same accreditations and program accreditations as it’s campus programs, and your degree will be exactly the same as one earned on campus. There is no differentiating by the universiry of online or on campus courses taken, so you can absolutely transfer online credits to on campus credit, because they are one in the same. Because of this your application to their world campus is the same as applying to penn state. I actually just spoke with their rep this past week at the Miramar Airshow. Their acceptance GPA for their business program was a 3.75 GPA and ACT above a 24. So understand it is not an online school but THE Penn State University. Hope that helps.
