Hello all! Yesterday I got accepted to Penn's CAS and Brown and couldn't be any happier. However, I have to decide which one to go to.

I'm still not really sure what I want to major in, but right now I think it'd be economics or international affairs. What do you guys think?

I’m sure you’ve considered this already but when I make decisions I like to do it by numbers lol, but consider
Penn is currently above Brown in rankings, this year Penn went up and Brown went down
Penn also has 3 times the endowment of Brown, which could mean a lot when it comes to fellowships and grants when you get there
and Penn is also in a larger city than Brown, which has more resources especially in your suggested fields
But I’m also a little biased because I got into Penn and not Brown!
Congratulations it’s an amazing accomplishment no matter what you choose!!

Johnson22,

What rankings are you referring to in that Penn went up? Did they go up from the current #8?

I mean Penn went from 11 (I’m pretty sure) to 8 this past year

This is really a matter of personal preference and fit. If possible, visit both schools and see which feels best for you in terms of the campuses and surrounding cities.

One advantage of Penn, though, is the ability of CAS students to take courses in Wharton, the law school (yes, Penn Law courses are generally open to undergrads), Annenberg School for Communication, etc.

But you can’t go wrong either way–both are phenomenal schools and, as I said, it’s really a matter of personal choice.

If you’re referrring to the US News rankings, Penn hasn’t been ranked below #8 in any of the past 16 years. In fact, until this past year, it hadn’t been ranked below #7 during that time.
