A big factor that leads me away from wanting to go to Penn is the overwhelming amount of work assigned. So, my question is how much work is actually given and if possible, how does it compare to other ivy workload? I will be studying sociology or history.

What about the workload at Wharton, too?

you'll just be reading a whole lot

and papering too

you'll be fine

Stay on top of your readings, or you'll regret it when midterms roll around. Otherwise, as long as you don't procrastinate too much you'll be fine.

Two of my roommates are in Wharton: one regularly stays up to odd hours of the morning working, while the other goes to bed earlier. One is just better at managing her time than the other.

If you want to go, don't let the amount of work stop you from applying. Remember, a lot of school's these days have a massive workload.. If you keep on top of it, you'll be fine :).

Which Ivy has the smallest workload?

I'm guessing Brown...
But overall I think that your workload doesn't depend on the school, more on a combination of your school and your major.
