I am currently a high school senior and have been accepted to the 6-year Premedical-Medical BS/MD Program at Penn State and Jefferson as well as the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences at Northwestern University among other schools and programs. I am deciding between these two--I seek your input on the pros and cons of both these options.

@ssuperstar - do you have scholarship to either place? Is money going to be an issue? how about location? How certain are you about medical career? How much importance do you put on the prestige of the program that you will eventually graduate from? As you can see, a lot of personal preferences will play into your decision because, if you are determined enough, both programs will take you where you want to go.

If you’re set on medicine Penn State is the easy choice. You’ll have to swallow some pride and may have less opportunities to explore areas like humanities, but if you can let go of these you’ll be on the path of least resistance for ultimately the same result (becoming a doctor).

Can you please state your stats for getting accepted into these programs and what you believe were your greatest strengths in your application?

Congrats on yr acceptances.
(1) Choose PennSt : If you are certain that you want to become Doctor.
(2) Choose NW : If you think you will NEVER regret even if you dont become Doctor in your future.

@ssuperstar, I would go with the 6 year Penn State-Jefferson program.
