Hey guys, I'm going to PA soon to take a look at schools. I'm from Michigan but I want to go to school out of state. Pennsylvania seems to have some great schools, although I don't know a whole lot about them. I was wondering if anyone could give me their opinion on any of the schools I listed. Specifically: social atmosphere, academics (especially poli sci and econ), and career/grad school opportunities. Obviously, I know Penn is the best but it is a reach for me, so I'm mostly asking for a comparison of Pitt, PSU, and Villanova. I'll try for Honors in all three of those. Thanks for the help!

If you really wanna go for Econ or political science, go to UMich. They have a really good reputation in both departments. There's no point in going out of state and paying the extra tuition, when you can get a better education at UMich for less than half the price (UPenn excluded, but that's a reach for you anyway).

I know Nova is more selective than the others, but nothing more. Pitt and PSU are about equal. PSU has stronger science and engineering and Pitt has better humanities. I'm not sure about poly sci or econ though.
