The PCC website says that it is now accredited with TRACS (Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools) – does this mean that PCC credits will/may transfer to other schools or that a graduate school will now accept PCC transcripts? Lack of accreditation has cost the school credibility in many Christian circles. But now, students should be able to transfer or graduates go own to graduate programs? Is that correct?

TRACS is a national accreditation, and this is not new at PCC. The more valuable accreditation would be regional.

I plan on attending PCC this coming August. And let me just say that it is completely my decision, my parents are willing to pay for any college, whether sate or Christian. Anyways, I know they are strict and everything but I’m willing to put up with it. I have a few questions though…
*How heavily do they monitor everything? I know their Internet is really monitored but what about texting and calling? I mean are they somehow able to monitor even that? I’m just wondering if I’ll have at least some privacy with that. If not, oh well though. Does anyone have first-hand knowledge about this?
*Also, is it really true that a whole dorm room could get expelled over something just one person did? I read something where someone said that and it’s ridiculous. I’m hoping that part is not true. I am in no way the kind of person that likes to tell on someone but I’d hate to get expelled over something like that.
*Can you date? I mean I know you can, but can you actually go pretty much wherever you want as long as there’s a chaperone? Even if it’s freshman year or if you’re only 18?
*My remaining questions are for the dress code. Are girls allowed to wear sleeveless shirts? I saw a pic of someone on their website but I couldn’t believe it. Also, what is acceptable to wear to the beach? The website just says covering the midsection, so does that mean tankinis or one pieces are allowed?
Any other tips and stuff would be really appreciated! I’m hoping for someone that has up to date knowledge about the school. Thanks!
Kate97 II read your post and I felt compelled to share with you about my experience in PCC so you can make an informed decision. To begin with I decided to go to PCC on my own (my mom wanted another school for me) but she allowed me to pick the college of my choice and I packed my things and there I went. Academically the school is good, the campus itself is beautiful and clean. That is all I can tell you about the positives. The rules are beyond ridiculous. I was doing fine and trying to cope between studying and not failing at the thousands of ridiculous rules they had. It was difficult enough having to study hard and get good grades. The worse for me was that you could not trust anyone. Students are encouraged and may I say they must tell on any classmate breaking any rules to “Student Life” or you will be equally punished. I saw that happened many times. And pray that you don’t have any enemies in your dorm, they can also go to student life and just lie about anything and you will get in trouble. But the saddest part is that apparently these so called “Christians” do not understand the meaning of justice, mercy and forgiveness. There must be a balance. I was kicked out for going to the wrong beach they have assigned for girls only. They treated me like if I was a criminal. I understand I broke a rule, but there was not mercy on them. I wonder sometimes if they really understand that if God had given us all that we deserve, we would have been all in hell, instead He was so good to us that he sent His son to die in our place and showed mercy on us.They don’t know the meaning of grace. The reason they cannot have mercy and they can’t forgive is because they themselves cannot give something they have not received. when I read about the Pharisees in Jesus day, I cannot help but to think about PCC. A year and one semester of credits were not transferable to the college I registered because of the non-accreditation problem they have, so I ended up starting from the beginning. My parents lost money and I lost almost two years. Not worth your time and money. Prepare yourself not to have a normal life and watch your back all the time. It is doable, others have done it but that is not the kind of life I wanted to experience as a student. Good luck!
