<p>Have you ever known someone who is involved in everything just because they want to put it on their college application? I know a few people like this. </p>
<p>And, can admissions officers see through all the fakeness? Or do they believe that these people join/start the club because they truly care?</p>

<p>I'm involved in WAY too many things, but I really enjoy them. How do I show that I care, and I'm not just giving a laundry list when I list like 10+ clubs? My home life isn't so great so I have another reason for spending almost all my time not at home.</p>
<p>aig...same here...but I know ppl..who sign up for ~ of clubs and do nothing then...in such cases u just shoudn't mention them in the first place..........</p>
<p>Aig, I am involved in a lot of things, too, so what I've been told is to really list the things you have a vested interest in. You know what I mean? Like, you're a member of the Knitting Club, but that isn't really something you're REALLY passionate about.</p>
<p>I think there's a thread in College Admissions called "How Impress Adcoms With Your Extra-Curriculars" and I believe it discusses the laundry list thing.</p>
<p>Hey, don't bash knitting club. You can totally show passion in that. It's only about the coolest thing ever :D</p>

<p>But, yeah. There are always those people that join a bazillion clubs just for the sake of application. I did it a lot as a sophomore. In one aspect, it might let you find a club that you didn't really think you would like but do. But, I think by the middle of Junior year, you should drop the things you don't really care for, and pursue officer positions or more responsibility in the things you like. It saves time and looks better to colleges.</p>

<p>does a lot of things, but the passion is just not there. neither is personality, but that's a whole other issue.</p>
