Pepperdine student life

As many of you know, the show Zoey 101 was filmed there. I was wondering if the student life was the same when you see everyone having a great time inbetween the characters events in the show. Is it really great place to go?

Zoey 101 is filmed there?!?!?!?!? I should've applied! lol.
From what I've heard, the place is beautiful, the people are beautiful, and everyone's happen. But I'm just as clueless as you are I guess, so I'll help you bump.

The religious influence is strong.

Most of the Christian schools in SoCal are only moderate in their affliliation, but Pepperdine is stricter. They have a firm behavioral code that students are expected to adhere to.

If that doesn't bother you, it's a great school. Right on the beach, strong academics, etc.

My D is applying. At her HS, at the dances they used to say " leave enough room for the Holy Spirit"!

The religious influence is fine as I'm not very strict about it myself. I'd be willing to deal with them. As I'm not so wise with the differences in religion, is Methodist anywhere close to Christian. Would it be wise to say that i'm christian in my application, hoping that this will improve my chances?

I found these threads enlightening in that regard ( distinctions between "Christian" and other religious labels in the college search). I don't think just saying it without EC's or essays to support it will make much difference. Pepperdine's essays ( they don't use the common app), certainly prompted for that.

I've heard it's similar to Point Loma Nazarene in that it's similar to the movie Footloose, if you get my drift.

Methodist is Christian, I believe.

I'm sorry, but how in the world can you not understand that a Methodist is a Christian??
Any religion that is based on the teachings of Jesus Christ is Christian -- that includes all the mainline Protestant churches, the Roman Catholic Church, and evangelical churches.
In modern parlance, "Christian" has taken on some of the connotations of the more evangelical churches, but still . . . come on.

Methodists came to being during the Second Great Awakening in the mid-1800's and sprung mainly from converted Presbyterians and Congregationalists.

Congregationalists come from the original Puritans that came here on the Mayflower, while Presbyterians are from Scots-Irish (I believe) who also settled here a long time ago...these two are just about as mainline American Protestant as you are going to get.
