Alright, I recently read a 'getting prepared for college' book, and the first step, it said, was to sit down a right about what your dream college would be. I figure this is a very good idea for a forum like here: people could post their ideal, and everybody could offer suggestions! I know I'd be willing to search around, or give my opinion based on the years' worth of college research I've already done.

Well, here goes nothing!

My perfect college would be one that offers International Studies, Political Science, and courses in French, Spanish, Arabic, and Mandarin Chinese. It also wouldnt hurt to also have Hindi. I would also want it to offer the study abroad opeion. I would also love for it to be within 10 miles of a beach that Id be able to swim in all year long- i.e California. Ideally it would also be near a city so as to provide me with more internship opportunities.

If anyone has any suggestions, Id probably love you forever! =] Thanks a lot.

BTW, in cases where a college has classes in all of the foreign languages, but only PoliSci OR International Studies, then a college that has the option of designing your own major is also great- i.e UCSB.

Well what’s your major?

The drawback is that they’re incredibly hard to get into.

And I so agree about the suite style dorms! But how would one find that out without visiting the campus?

My ideal school would have all of these characterstics

SU meets 1, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 (Not mild though…), 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, and 19. But financial aid is good enough and it kinda sucks that Syracuse is a dead city lol.

I think people got confused here. It’s not what your ideal college is, but suggestions for the OP. I don’t know where the OP was going with us and maybe they wanted to know other people’s dream school and suggestions for themselves.

“if anyone has any suggestions, I’d probably love you forever”

"people could post their ideal, and everybody could offer suggestions! "
I think everyone posts their perfect school and people just read them and suggest schools if they happen to know close ones

Cuse0507: I would love UGA (if I can get in, lol)

and about the PSU: I’ve visited PSU many times, my brother goes there, both my cousins went there, two of my uncles went there, my mom went there… and I really do like it. I like the school spirit, and everything, but for some reason I don’t want to go there.

It’s far away from my house (3.5 hours) but still, I don’t feel like it’s all that far. I think I just want to break away from the mold… which is why it’s so funny you mentioned it.
Thanks!

haha no I meant everyone should post- I’ll do my best to help

You sound like you’ve described American or George Washington! Except for the free ride- I can’t speak for whatever financial aid they’d give, though G.W is supposed to be very good at merit-based. Also, G.W has the suite-style rooms (esp. the Mt. Vernon campus), and both are in D.C, which has the amazing metr system.

I wish I knew more, but through a search engine all I can offer is
-California University of Pennsylvania (wierd name, huh? Turns out the city is called California =P )- and it’s judged to be a very pretty campus
and
-Catholic University in Washington D.C. It’s outside of the city a bit, and if they had my major, it would be my dream schoool. It is absolutely beautiful, and I say that even after visiting in February, when there were no cherry blossoms or anything.

@noimagination
Try for one of the University of California schools- maybe Berkeley or UCLA- or Stanford or CalTech? As you probably already know, you gotta have really good grades to get in, though. On the bright side, theres tons to do that has nothing to do with drinking!

@rxswheeee
Well idk abou that last one, but I cross referenced the Party List and the Jewish Population List and: Florida State University and University of Florida

@TPL09
Have you considered Hawaii? Even though they might have a little too many Asians for your standards =P
And I know I keep touting G.W, but seriously, if you have a good enough acedemic history, then they give great financial packages. And it definetely meets all of the other criteria!

Dr. G: Thanks so much! I don’t really want to stay in state (i guess I forgot to mention that… I live in PA) and I’m not sure if my parents would appreciate me going to a college called the Catholic University because I’m jewish… lol
